Sam Jacquard spent eight years of his childhood in Iqaluit and has remained connected to Nunavut through work and personal relationships. Sam has a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences and Math and is now working towards his degree in Education from Queen’s University. He recently participated in a collaborative research project between Queen’s and Nord University in Norway which concentrated on innovation in education. This initiative had a focus on Indigenous studies, diversity, and inclusion.
Sam has a rich history in community-based programs. Over multiple summers, he has supervised summer camps in subsidized housing communities, dedicated to teaching important life skills to kids. He has also been involved in the planning of two Health Careers Camps in Iqaluit. Since joining Sivummut in 2022, he has supported financial administration of the business, working with all staff and contractors, providing project support.
Outside of work, Sam is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly in soccer and golf, and appreciates the discipline and teamwork fostered through athletics. He also loves to travel and will never turn down a friendly game of chess.
