Nadine Purdy brings over a decade of experience in communications and graphic design to Sivummut. Nadine has extensive hands-on experience with communication processes within Nunavut, supporting community engagement, and has well-established relationships with other businesses, departments and organizations who support communication efforts within the territory.
Nadine spent five years with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health, initially working as a Mass Media Coordinator for the department’s Tobacco Reduction Team before becoming the department’s Manager of Communications. Nadine managed the Tobacco Has No Place Here Mass Media Campaign for three years while delivering new territory-wide health promotion campaigns. As the Manager of Communications, Nadine facilitated internal and external communications support and products for all Health divisions, as well as the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Minister of Health, Iqaluit Health Services, and Nunavut's 24 remote health centers.
Nadine also has recent experience with the Labour Market Information Council (LMIC) as its Manager of Communications; LMIC is an organization working to improve the accessibility and literacy of labour market information in Canada.
When Nadine isn’t working, she can be found experimenting in the kitchen while listening to mystery podcasts, painting, or touring around Ottawa on her bike.
