Micheal (Mike) Murphy joined the Sivummut team in 2022, after six years working with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Finance and the Nunavut Housing Corporation in various roles. Mike has served as Manager of Public Agency Operations for the Department of Finance and Director of Policy and Strategic Planning at the Nunavut Housing Corporation. Mike’s education in public policy, governance, and public administration has provided a foundation for his work in policy and program development, service and operational agreements, management agreements, and the development of communications for housing programs and initiatives. He supported the development and negotiation of the 10-year National Housing Strategy, provided oversight of the Nunavut Liquor and Cannabis Board Operations, and reported to the Deputy Ministers’ Accountability Committee, among other government-wide initiatives.
Mike’s free time is spent trying to keep up with his super-active kids and enjoying the outside world.
