Leah Ayaruaq was raised in Qikiqtarjuaq, and has also lived in both Iqaluit and Rankin Inlet. Passionate about Inuit culture, Leah is thankful that she had the opportunity to learn Inuktut at a young age due to its importance in keeping Inuit culture strong; she continues to use it to this day as a fully bilingual Inuk HR consultant. She has a Human Resources and Payroll Administration Diploma from Willis College in Ottawa, and continues to gather experience in the HR field through her work with Sivummut, while also supporting the Sivummut team in learning Inuktut.
An avid fisher, Leah enjoys going out fishing any time of year, whether it is in the summer or in the winter. She also enjoys going camping during the summer months, sewing, and traveling to both new and familiar places.
