For over 13 years, Angela Briffett has cared for the homelessness portfolio for the Government of Nunavut. Through her role as both the Manager and Senior Planner Homeless Initiatives, she directed various homelessness research projects, action plans, community initiatives and engagements.
Angela has been instrumental in supporting, advocating, and securing increased resources, advancing to meet the needs of homeless Nunavummiut. She provided direct support to community not-for-profits that provide shelter, housing and supports to Nunavummiut experiencing homelessness. She also developed and managed the financial contribution agreements for the agencies that provided emergency shelter and transitional housing. She has developed and maintained exemplary working relationships with the communities across the territory and is known for her innate desire to help others.
Angela is currently completing the last year of her Master's of Arts in Counselling Psychology program, fulfilling her career goal of becoming a psychotherapist. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, being active, and hiking.
